Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting

Booking Holdings is currently undergoing a Finance Transformation initiative that will drive effective finance/accounting support for business management; promote strong governance and control in the organization; and have a world-class finance organization in terms of execution and efficiency.  We are looking for an experienced Sr. Corp Accounting Manager with solid professional and leadership experience in a global and fast-paced environment. In this role, you will be part of a dynamic organization of finance professionals and will report directly to the GBS RTR Director who is accountable for the Corporate Accounting Entities of Booking Holdings. You will be working from our headquarters in Norwalk, leading a team based on our COE in India.  You will be responsible for several key processes (e.g. Investments, Cash, Debt, Dividends, Stock Repurchase, G&A) within the corporate accounting team with a focus on quality and promoting accountability. You will bring structure and drive ownership in our monthly closing and reporting cycles. You will lead the team to ensure that they have deep expertise and accounting knowledge and are able to understand how data on the corporate ledger is used by various stakeholders, including external reporting and FP&A. In this role, you will partner closely with our Risk and Control team to ensure adequate controls around our corporate processes and the integrity of the reported financials. Overall accountable for the completeness and accuracy of the BHI Corporate financial information and underlying internal controls. Strong planning, communication, and people leadership skills are essential.
 

In this role you will get to:

  • Manage the day-to-day corporate accounting and related month-end close processes, including financial reporting and quality & timeliness of internal controls requirements. 

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of group accounting according to US GAAP.

  • Review monthly closing journals, reports, and reconciliations under US GAAP, Policy, and the SOX framework, and ensure the deadlines are met for financial close activities.

  • Oversee all the controls associated with BHI (ex BS and P&L Flux),  review internal control memos, and endorse sign-off of the representation letter.  

  • Guide the COE team on the end-to-end process and control of all corporate accounting activities including strong collaboration with all stakeholders (GBS, FP&A,  R&C, Technical Accounting, External Reporting, Tax).

  • Ensure that we work closely and support the requests of key stakeholders and support projects that drive the RTR transformation agenda.

  • Partner with the Global Process team and align on priorities and roadmap

  • Assist the S4 implementation, ensuring all BHI entities’ activities are properly transitioned from Oracle to SAP.

  • Oversee compilation of statutory financial statements for corporate-managed entities.

  • Manage one direct report that drives seamless Global Intercompany operations

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • CPA Required

  • 12 years of corporate accounting experience, preferably in a shared-service model

  • Big 4 public accounting or multinational corporate environment experience preferred

  • Technical accounting expertise with knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS and SOX

  • Project management and/or transformation experience

  • Proficiency in SAP, Oracle, and Blackline preferred; familiarity with OneStream is a plus

  • Excellent communication skills, ability to collaborate effectively across the organization

  • Enthusiastic about developing and leading people

  • High levels of personal effectiveness, particularly communication, organization, and the ability to focus on achieving deadlines

  • Enthusiasm to work in a fast-paced, highly diverse, continuously developing and informal high-achieving environment

  • Strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder management

  • Strong IT experience in financial systems, including SAP, is preferable

There are a variety of job related factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. In addition to a competitive base salary, roles are eligible to be considered for an annual bonus and equity grant.

The base salary range for Connecticut and the NYC-metro area is $166,500-$203,500.
