This role is eligible for our hybrid work model: Two days in-office.
Are you a litigator and generalist who loves to collaborate with colleagues around the globe, support corporate colleagues and manage a global team? Booking Holdings is looking for an experienced litigator and generalist to support company-wide litigation, employment law and other legal areas including IP, AI, regulatory and competition and consumer law. Joining the Booking Holdings legal team is a unique opportunity to work hand-in-hand with the Booking Holdings senior management team as well as lawyers around the globe in our subsidiary brands and business units.
In this role, you will get to:
Lead litigation matters worldwide involving Booking Holdings Inc. and/or multiple subsidiary brands. Engage outside counsel, set strategy, oversee discovery and settlement and appeal considerations.
Provide employment law counsel and partnership to the BHI HR and Compliance/Investigative teams.
Work cross-brand to shape, manage and improve global litigation and risk mitigation strategy, including by developing and maintaining standards for subsidiary brands.
Coordinate cross-brand global alignment on substantive legal issues, such as IP, employment, consumer law, sustainability, AI, and accessibility.
Work cross-brand to manage BHI’s intellectual property portfolio and assist brands in managing their portfolios.
Work with the legal operations team to effectively manage company-wide law firm and litigation spend and relationships as well as internal e-discovery and record management processes.
Manage two direct reports in Europe who support the function. Evaluate team resourcing needs moving forward. Travel required.
Serve as a leader on the Global Legal Team, including by creating shared experiences and initiatives (e.g. offering regular CLEs; assisting in organization of annual Global Legal Department summit).
What you have:
JD; Exceptional legal education and top law firm credentials. Barred in a US state.
10-15 years litigation experience as a qualified attorney.
3-5 years experience in employment law or support for Human Resources.
2-5 years in-house legal experience in a global company.
Extensive hands on litigation experience.
Experience in employment law and/or supporting a Human Resource function.
Strong writing and editing skills and solid organizational skills.
Assertive, collaborative, intellectually curious and self starter personality.
Experience working globally and with colleagues outside the US and rudimentary knowledge of European and other legal systems is a strong plus.
Approximately 25% travel, most of which is international, to manage team members in Romania and the Netherlands, visit subsidiaries and business units in Asia and India and attend in person litigation matters (mostly in the US, could be in Europe).

There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. In addition to a competitive base salary, roles are eligible to be considered for an annual bonus and equity grant.
The base salary range for Connecticut and the NYC-metro area is $258,300 – $315,700.
