The role of Tax Manager of Booking Holdings will focus primarily on U.S. GAAP income tax provision calculations.
Responsibilities and Duties
Prepare quarterly U.S. GAAP income tax provision calculations in accordance with ASC 740 for all U.S. entities and certain international entities.
Analyze the worldwide income tax account activity in the various accounts, such as deferred taxes, income tax payable, and uncertain tax positions on a quarterly basis.
Assist with quarterly preparation of international tax models, including GILTI, Sec. 986(c) foreign exchange gains/losses, and Sec. 163(j) interest expense limitations. Model the potential impact of certain transactions or tax law changes on the effective tax rate.
Communicate directly with finance personnel at Brands regarding the monthly tax provision process. Communicate with and provide proactive support to the Corporate Controllers’ Group and FP&A on income tax reporting-related matters.
Prepare the U.S. Federal and state provision to return calculations, U.S. Federal and state income tax payable proofs, and quarterly tax account reconciliations.
Research and document tax technical issues.
Monitor and ensure compliance with income tax SOX controls and maintain appropriate documentation.
Minimum 5-6 years of professional tax experience or comparable industry experience
Big 4 public accounting experience
BS or BA in Accounting
Licensed CPA or MST preferred
Understanding and knowledge of ASC 740 and FIN 18
Good tax technical background and experience
Broad based knowledge of U.S. Federal and State tax law
Strong analytical ability to identify challenges, provide solutions, and resolve problems in a timely manner
Highly organized with a desire to lead but also willing to do hands-on preparation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to efficiently and accurately manage competing priorities and internal and external deadlines
Ability to coordinate work within diverse and geographically dispersed teams and to deliver through to completion and manage projects and workflows
Positive attitude and dependable team player with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently
Willingness to suggest and implement process improvements.
Highly skilled in Excel. Proficient in the other Microsoft Office suite of products
Experience with OneSource Tax Provision and/or Alteryx is a plus
