Job Summary

The Transaction Monitoring and Sanctions Screening team sits within the second  line of defense under the Compliance Function. The Transaction Monitoring and Sanctions Screening Analyst will perform On-Going Due Diligence (ODD) checks in relation to Transaction monitoring alerts and Sanctions Screening alerts and Payment screening on Partners and Bookers.

The Transaction Monitoring and Sanctions Screening analyst will be part of a high-performing team of AML/KYC practitioners that will be responsible for mitigating AML risks and driving operational excellence to support the BHFS and Booking Holdings mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertaking independent investigations on Partners using internal, online and vendor tools. 

  • Review, investigate and escalate as appropriate any alerts raised by Transaction Monitoring and Sanctions and Payment Screening.

  • Investigating and reporting high-risk clients, including Politically Exposed Persons, collecting all the necessary documentation to complete the client profile. 

  • Summarize & analyze in writing, clear and concise findings of transaction monitoring and screening alert investigations. Escalate results through the appropriate channels where applicable. 

  • Escalate potential risks/red flags to senior management and provide recommendations on the next course of action.

  • Document and follow required process flows to ensure accurate and efficient alert management.

  • Communicate with internal stakeholders and external Partners in order to resolve any issues, as needed.

  • Provide SME expertise and support to BHFS, Booking Holdings and Fintech. 

  • Partner with the Regulatory Compliance team members  operational procedures to any policy or regulatory changes. 

  • Performing relevant quality assurance checks on transaction monitoring and screening alerts.

  • Review and update related SOPs in line with BHFS AML policy and procedures

Knowledge and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in law, business, finance, or accounting preferred; or Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS, ICA) or similar 

  • At least 3+ years' experience in AML compliance/AML/KYC Operations, preferably at a large financial institution with a European customer base, experience in payments an advantage

  • Good knowledge of the European AML legislation

  • Excellent transaction monitoring and screening experience 

  • Proactive and communicative with an ability to take initiative and assume responsibility
