Job Overview

Booking Holdings is currently undergoing a Finance transformation initiative that will ultimately drive effective finance support for management, promote strong governance and control in the organization, and create a world-class finance organization in terms of execution and efficiency. This program is focused on standardizing business practices across our portfolio of brands and will rely on our financial systems to establish and drive standards (People, Process, and Systems).

To support this transformation, the organization has created a Global Business Services (GBS) Organization, and we are looking for a Senior Manager, Global Business Services Operations. This role will be responsible for working across a broad group of stakeholders with different interests and priorities. This role will be critical in operating within the GBS Operations organization to assist with executing these critical initiatives related to process excellence. The position will have significant leadership responsibility and will be expected to drive change through influence, relationships, communications, and execution. This individual will have experience working between the business and Financial Technology / Financial Systems to develop standardized, streamlined, harmonized, and optimized processes with a focus on automation, scalability, and controls. In addition, this position will be the steward of the Knowledge Management content and develop new content related to processes and operational excellence. Lastly, this position will work alongside the VP of GBS Operations to create a culture of continuous improvement, making it easier for people to work efficiently. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Work alongside the VP, GBS Operations, to build the foundation and foster the expansion of the group as it progresses through maturity

  • Co-lead Proof of Concepts, Pilots, and integrations for tools, eg. process mining tools.

  • Projects may include partnering with businesses and providing problem-solving support to identify solutions to challenging situations.  Solution identification may include Value Mapping, root cause analysis, and the like to identify variations, increase effectiveness, efficiency, optimization  and enhance controls.

  • Execute or engage in all GBS Operations initiatives, primarily focused on Process Operational Excellence – to increase efficiency and effectiveness, focusing on standardization, harmonization, streamlining, optimization, and control analysis of processes. Immediate assignments would include, but not limited to,  taking over Proof of Concept for Process Mining and becoming Steward of Knowledge Management content.

  • Develop programs to build skills and expertise in operational excellence, including evaluating and initiating training programs, such as Lean Six Sigma, that bring a consistent way of working across the team, ensuring collaboration to improve performance by removing waste and reducing process variations and risk

  • Work closely with an integrated team to propose, design, and deploy process improvement activities and tools.  

  • Build and manage processes, business requirements, documentation, playbook, SOPs, and repository

  • Create and present updates, as applicable, highlighting key milestones, accomplishments, next steps, risks, issues, follow-up items, and cross-functional dependencies

  • Manage and enhance the Knowledge Management content for GBS Operations – Process Excellence, including but not limited to inventory & mapping of current state process maps, systems, taxonomies, tools, business process master list, and governance of the repository.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities 

  • 8+ years of relevant experience, preferably in a consulting environment driving value and managing/supporting a wide range of initiatives

  • Bachelor's degree (MBA a plus)

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Business Process Improvement

  • Strong organization, communication, and project management skills

  • Flexible and capable of finding the right balance between structured problem analysis and project management, and agility in a fast-paced, changing environment

  • Must be results-oriented, demonstrate adaptability, flexibility, and resourcefulness 

  • Strong qualitative, quantitative, analytical, and critical thinking skills

  • Capable of developing processes where none exist 

  • Ability to work with, influence, and align with multiple stakeholders.

  • Proficient problem solving and structuring skills, with the ability to simplify complex areas and identify root causes and solutions.

  • Ability to effectively interact with people at all organizational levels and foster a team environment.

  • Excellent presentation and documentation skills

  • Ability to accommodate meetings in different time zones, as needed.

  • Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus

  • Familiarity with G-Suite is a plus
