Job Overview
Booking Holdings’ (BHI) Global Compliance & Ethics department is looking for a highly motivated and experienced compliance professional to join our great team and company as Senior Manager, Compliance. In this role, you will help the team and the company maintain an effective compliance and ethics program to promote our ethical culture, manage risk, and prevent and detect potential violations of law and other misconduct. This role reports to BHI’s Director of Regulatory Compliance and works cross-functionally with stakeholders in the U.S. and around the world.
Responsibilities and Duties
Together with the Director of Regulatory Compliance and other members of the Compliance & Ethics team, work on implementing and continuously improving the key elements of our compliance program, including risk assessment, policies and controls, training and awareness, and monitoring and response.
Work with key internal stakeholders and outside counsel to monitor the regulatory and enforcement landscape, identify applicable regulatory requirements, and advise management and stakeholders of the corresponding impact on the company’s operational activities.
Manage a periodic review of key compliance policies, procedures, and controls to ensure they are robust, consistent with relevant legal and regulatory requirements and industry best practices, and easy to access, read, and understand. Identify opportunities for developing granular documents to provide risk management guidance to support business objectives.
Participate in the development of compliance and ethics training and communications as a subject matter expert.
Provide guidance and recommendations to ensure effective compliance with applicable laws and policies across a range of subject matters, including anti-bribery/anti-corruption, conflict of interest, competition and consumer protection, insider trading, and employment law.
Build strong and effective relationships with other departments across BHI and our brands to ensure the effective implementation of our compliance and ethics program across the enterprise.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
J.D. degree or equivalent preferred
5+ years of relevant legal or compliance experience, including in-house or law firm experience
Excellent skills and judgment in analyzing regulatory and compliance issues
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively articulate risks/issues, develop solutions/remediation and timelines, and prepare reports and presentations to senior management
Attention to detail and ability to work on and prioritize multiple projects
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively to proactively achieve goals and objectives and complete both open-ended and defined tasks
Experience in translating complex policies and laws into practical business advice and controls
Comfort working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to evolving priorities and needs

There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. In addition to a competitive base salary, roles are eligible to be considered for an annual bonus and equity grant.
The base salary range for Connecticut and the NYC-metro area is $178,200-$217,800.
