Job Title: Senior Counsel, Legal
Reports to and Location:
The Senior Counsel, Legal will report to the SVP, Legal in our Norwalk office.
Booking Holdings is looking for an experienced commercial lawyer to negotiate and draft enterprise level contracts in tandem with our procurement function and to develop and implement contracting standards and controls across our subsidiary brands. The role will also be a generalist lawyer providing commercial, litigation and employment law support as needed. Joining the Booking Holdings legal team is a unique opportunity to work hand in hand with the Booking Holdings senior management team while working closely with lawyers in our brands.
Responsibilities and Duties:
This position will principally be responsible for negotiating and drafting all Holding company level commercial agreements, working closely with the new procurement function by:
Drafting complex vendor agreements, including in areas such as technology, payments, marketing and online advertising, professional services, accounts payable and human resources.
Drafting templates and policies for future use at the holding company and brand levels.
Supporting several other functions within Booking Holdings such as Tax, Finance and Human Resources and helping us define stronger controls over contracting at our brands.
Some time will also be spent on general legal matters for Booking Holdings, including litigation management and employment law.
At least 7 years legal experience as a qualified attorney, preferably with in house experience
Exceptional legal education and law firm credentials
Experience in the travel or consumer goods spaces a plus
Commercial and contract drafting experience with a focus on procurement, IT and technology. Tax experience a plus.
Strong negotiation skills
Strong writing and editing skills and solid organizational skills
Assertive, intellectually curious and self-starter personality
Willingness to travel (in post-Covid environment)
Ability to work well with colleagues around the world
