The Climate Expert will report to the VP of Sustainability at Booking Holdings and will work very closely with the Brand sustainability teams to support their implementation of the group-wide SBTs. Act as a center of excellence for sustainability (climate) expertise for Booking Holdings and Brands, support internal teams with the sustainability knowledge that they need, and liaise with key external thought partners.
In this role you will get to:
Act as sustainability (climate) expert, be a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders
Develop/lead group-wide sustainability (climate) projects, as needed.
Manage and engage with applicable external stakeholders (e.g., interact with policymakers, media, shareholders, governments, and industry leaders to represent BHI’s sustainability [climate] goals, position, and activities)
Provide expertise for communication on sustainability (climate) topics
What you have:
Master’s Degree
Deep expertise in Sustainability (Climate) issues, topics, and industry solutions
Ability to present complex issues/topics clearly to internal and external audiences
Strong stakeholder management skills, able to work effectively with multiple stakeholders
Ability to connect key sustainability (climate) knowledge to business topics
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work with others
Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to environmental programs
Strong communication skills
8+ years of relevant experience in sustainability (climate) expertise
Previous experience in corporate sustainability/ESG program/project management or related function, dealing with sustainability (climate) topics
Experience with greenhouse gas emission measurement and assessment as well as reporting frameworks or standards including GHG Protocol, GRI, SASB
Strategic mindset, results-driven and solution-oriented with the ability to identify connections and translate opportunities into solutions
Ability to combine deep-level knowledge with wider context, understanding, and perspectives across the whole organization and more broadly BHI’s industry
Awareness of current environmental trends, laws, and regulations
Collaborative and team-oriented professional able to successfully work across functions and business units and with key stakeholders
Strong business acumen, understands how to operate within a business and achieve planned outcomes

There are a variety of job related factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. In addition to a competitive base salary, roles are eligible to be considered for an annual bonus and equity grant.
The base salary range for Connecticut and the NYC-metro area is $161,100-$196,900.
