Booking Holdings is currently undergoing a Finance Transformation initiative that will drive effective finance/accounting support for business management; promote strong governance and control in the organization; and have a world-class finance organization in terms of execution and efficiency.
As part of this transformation, we are hiring a Manager, Consolidations and Reporting to join the team and manage the global financial close consolidation process, help drive process and system improvements and internal and external stakeholders’ reporting and analytics. This role will interface heavily with our global entities and corporate personnel at various levels across the organization, as well as the internal and external auditors.
Responsibilities and Duties
Leading the monthly global consolidation of approximately 300 entities through Hyperion/OneStream, including managing the global monthly close schedule
Reviewing and analyzing monthly brand financial results and other related analyses included in the consolidated financial results packages to ensure completeness and accuracy of results in accordance with GAAP, and compliance with internal policies
Assisting with the preparation of financial and other data utilized in the Company’s 10-Q and 10-K filings, cash flow statements, quarterly Audit Committee packages, flux analyses and financial reports to management and other stakeholders
Preparing the consolidated and by brand cash flow statements
Working to streamline and condense the close and reporting cycle, identify and recommend updates to the process, and systems to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the consolidation
Serving as a key contact point related to the monthly consolidation process ensuring strong communication and timely resolution of issues with our global colleagues
Liaise with external auditors as part of the quarterly close process
Maintaining the integrity of the consolidation system code block elements (chart of accounts, cost centers, profit centers) and alignment with SAP S4 through the use of the SAP Master Data Governance tool
Maintaining a global subsidiary chart of account glossary to ensure consistent mapping of local subsidiary GL accounts
Assist in the implementation of new accounting standards and the accounting for non-standard transactions as needed
Ensuring consolidation related controls are being performed timely and continue to be effective
Actively support finance transformation initiatives and expanded use of new technology, specifically through the OneStream implementation
Work collaboratively across groups, leveraging financial systems, to drive compilation of ongoing insightful financial and operational analytics
Assist in development of dashboards to track key performance indicators and monitor business performance and process effectiveness
Working with cross-functional teams including the brands, Global Business Services, Treasury, Tax, Financial Reporting and Planning to drive process standardization, improvements and efficiencies
Performing other ad-hoc analyses and special projects as required
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
CPA, MBA, or equivalent preferred
Minimum of 8 years in industry and/or public accounting
Big 4 public accounting experience preferred
Experience performing complex consolidations of global businesses, including multiple functional currencies
Possess a strong understanding of US GAAP, accounting systems, internal controls, financial reporting, and financial statements analysis
Strong understanding and previous experience preparing a cash flow statement (ASC 830 Foreign Currency Matters and ASC 230 Statement of Cash Flows, respectively)
Ability to effectively communicate at various levels of the organization tailored appropriately to the audience
Candidate should demonstrate effective collaboration skills up, down and across the organization
Maintain effectiveness in continually evolving environment
Strong attention to detail and sense of ownership
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritize workload in order to achieve objectives under tight deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Experience with SAP is preferred
Experience with OneStream or Hyperion Financial Management is a plus
10% of travel is average during normal circumstances
