Job Overview

Booking Holdings is responsible for effective finance support for business management; strong governance and control in the organization; and maintaining a world-class finance organization in terms of execution and efficiency. As part of our Global Business Services team we are building a leadership team that will focus largely on establishing Global Process Ownership (R2R, P2P, O2C) and transformation roles. To support this initiative, we are hiring for a Global Process Owner, Procure to Pay within the Global Business Services organization.  This role will be based in Norwalk at our Corporate Headquarters.

Responsibilities and Duties

The Global Process Owner, Procure to Pay will report to the VP GBS at Booking Holdings and is responsible for the end to end Procure to Pay business process. 

This role serves as the custodian of the overall Procure to Pay (P2P) process and is responsible for the process design at a global level. In conjunction with the newly formed Global Business Services organization and Finance Transformation teams, this role assesses and articulates business requirements, analyzes design options, and seeks out and assesses process simplification opportunities. 

The Global Process Owner (GPO) is responsible for the governance and proactive development and enhancement of their end-to-end process across the enterprise.  The GPO must collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient process operations and identification and leverage of cross-process synergies.  The GPO also monitors process performance and prioritizes and drives process-related investment decisions.  Additionally, the GPO is accountable for ensuring process compliance with all relevant legislation and company procedures. 

The GPO Procure to Pay will be responsible for: 

  • Driving the Global Accounts Payable enterprise strategy, which will partner with the Finance Transformation Office, Payments Teams, local controllers, and IT teams to implement a new global Accounts Payable operating model and to partner closely with the Service Delivery teams, Business Stakeholders, Sourcing and IT to drive the Global P2P technology roadmap

  • Ensure optimal use and adaptation of ERP/enabling technologies; owning the AP Technology Roadmap leading Continuous Improvement

  • Working closely with Master Data Management teams to ensure key data elements are structured, standardized, and consistent across our brand portfolio (suppliers, customers, partners, vendors, etc) 

  • Design people, process, and technology standards for end-to-end P2P process at Enterprise level

  • Partner closely with Procurement and Accounting Teams to implement standards around process and policy, such as PO usage, supplier rationalization, and payment terms 

  • Collaborating with IT, CFOs, Controllers, GBS, and Finance Transformation Office on system implementations and enhancement initiatives

  • Partnering with Business unit leaders and Procure to Pay teams to drive ongoing business process improvements, central payments, etc

  • Providing SME knowledge for Procure to Pay process, including current ways of working across brands, business process management, systems, and objectives

  • Reviewing end-to-end process performance and providing ongoing governance for process adoption and business demand

  • Participating in governance management boards to provide input on items such as process scope and service delivery and assist in resolving operational issues 

  • Building business cases to quantify the cost and value of process opportunities and advocate for funding as necessary

  • Developing prioritization of process related improvements and opportunities

  • Collaborating with the business, corporate, and Enterprise Business Services to ensure resources are properly trained on processes, policies, and systems


The Ideal Candidate will have experience:

  • Translating strategy into operational goals, objectives, and an Procure to Pay process roadmap

  • Leading within an outsourced or shared services Accounts Payable environment 

  • Significant experience and use of ERP software (SAP) and familiarity with Procurement & A/P systems and interfaces

  • Thorough understanding of accounting controls, with deep experience in Procurement, A/P, invoice processing, payment and disbursements within E-Commerce , OTA organization 

  • Implementing business process changes to improve operating efficiencies

  • Leading the execution of a global strategy for an end-to-end Procure to Pay process including associated policies and technologies

  • Prioritizing process related improvements and opportunities and building business cases to quantify cost/ benefit position 

  • Making key decisions related to business process management, including target setting, process performance, and financial management

  • Driving major process redesign efforts and be accountable for implementation

  • Managing effectively through times of crisis and ambiguity


  • BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or General Management (CPA, or MBA preferred) 

  • Program and project management experience required

  • Formal continuous improvement (e.g. LEAN / Six Sigma) and project management (e.g. PMP) certification/training desirable.

  • 8+ years’ experience in Accounts Payable environment including managerial positions of increasing responsibilities, ideally in a GPO position

  • Experience leading and supporting cross functional business services with an emphasis on Finance and Accounting functions

  • Experience with Shared Services and/ or Outsourced Service Delivery Models

  • Demonstrated experience working in a matrixed global environment

  • Demonstrable experience of executing process transformation initiatives or delivering enterprise systems

  • In-depth understanding of Procure to Pay leading practices and experience with Oracle, SAP, and procurement systems 

  • Experience with application and implementation of RPA and AI technologies within Procure to Pay process desirable

  • Proven Leadership of teams and Procure to Pay process 

  • Ability to influence and drive change at all levels of the organization 

  • 25% average during normal circumstances
