To support this transformation, we are hiring for a Fixed Assets Process Owner within the Global Accounting Organization. This role, reporting to the Global Process Owner, Accounting, will be responsible for helping drive standardized global processes, leveraging best in class technology being implemented globally, and ensuring compliance with Company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities and Duties
The Fixed Assets Process Owner is responsible for global oversight and management of fixed assets and the associated end-to-end business processes, including the accounting process for intangible assets, leases and externally sourced and internally developed software (collectively, “Fixed Assets”).
Driving global alignment and end-to-end process and controls standardization across the brands for capturing and reporting Fixed Assets.
Serving as the financial/accounting subject matter expert to global business partners with respect to Fixed Assets.
Managing future state internal order/project accounting process and SAP fixed asset master data.
Providing direction to those involved with the accounting for Fixed Assets at the Brands on matters such as additions, transfers, dispositions, impairment, modifications and CIP project accounting in accordance with BHI accounting policies.
Identifying improvement opportunities to advance and accelerate the fixed assets close process.
Working with Risk & Controls to identify risks and design/enhance processes and controls needed to be in compliance with Company policy.
Proposing changes to BHI accounting policies with regards to Fixed Assets as necessary.
Recommending and participating in the implementation of process improvements and automation to promote a culture of continuous improvement in the Fixed Asset process.
Ensuring global compliance with financial policies and procedures to ensure efficient execution and consistency across the brand.
Partnering with the Brand accounting and operations teams to ensure appropriate application of BHI accounting policies in the capitalization of extended platform and other IDS applications
Staying current on related upcoming changes to accounting pronouncements related to Fixed Assets and working with technical accounting counterparts to quantify impacts and implement changes to processes or policies, as needed.
Identifying and driving opportunities to centralize, automate or outsource fixed asset activities in a scalable, sustainable and standardized manner.
Administering the financial accounting aspects of the Company’s global lease accounting system, CoStar.
Assisting with other special projects as assigned.
BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or General Management.
CPA or MBA preferred with public accounting / audit experience preferred.
Minimum 8 years of Finance and Accounting experience in a complex multinational organization, ideally related to management of Record-to-Report processes.
Strong working knowledge of GAAP and IFRS, a plus.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in a general ledger/fixed asset or ERP system (SAP a plus).
Experience with CoStar a plus.
Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) focused on leading and influencing the global fixed assets process team.
Experience working with global teams in different time zones.
Extensive experience and working knowledge of Fixed Asset industry standard best practices.
Advanced Excel analytics capability, including pivot tables and data slicing.
Ability to influence and drive change at all levels of the organization.
