Job Summary

Booking Holdings Financial Services is building out a finance team that has experience within a regulated financial services environment, helping to deliver a world-class payments operation to support the global brands of Booking Holdings Inc. The company is seeking to hire an Analyst into the team.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will be a part of the “Payments” team who will be responsible for the day to day processes, controls and reporting necessary to ensure the business meets its obligations with respect to the safeguarding, reconciliation and reporting of “User Funds”.  This position and team will work closely with colleagues in affiliate companies, who support the daily execution of key tasks under an outsourced arrangement.

The role is part of the wider finance team responsible for both the day to day financial operations of the UK business, as well as supporting new business initiatives across the company.

The finance team will be responsible for ensuring BHFS is in compliance with all of its regulatory and statutory obligations from a financial control and oversight perspective and will partner with both internal and external service providers to ensure a strong internal control environment.  

The finance team will be accountable for the delivery of timely, complete and accurate financial statements, management reporting and financial analysis. The team will also support the local executive team in pursuit of the company’s objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the timeliness, completeness and accuracy of daily reconciliations in line with the regulatory obligations for safeguarding.

  • Take ownership of unreconciled items and ensure that they are investigated and tracked to completion.

  • Ensure that safeguarding processes are performed in line with the control environment set within the Payments group.

  • Provide support for both internal and external audit review processes.

  • Partner with both internal and external service providers to support the rollout of new products.

  • Support liquidity monitoring and internal cash management reporting.

  • Preparation of accruals and other journal entries.

  • Preparation & reporting on monthly financial performance (including variance analysis & Balance Sheet review).

  • Analytical review of costs billed to the entity.

  • Preparation of monthly billing & analysis.

  • Performing capital requirement analysis.

  • Preparation & review of Statutory Accounts.

  • Compilation of VAT & Corporation Tax returns.

Knowledge and skills

  • Actively studying towards accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).

  • 2 – 5 years relevant job experience

  • Experience of working in a regulated financial services company. Ideally within Payment Services, but not essential.

  • Good working knowledge of spreadsheets and financial ERP systems.

  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to work in a fast paced environment and with tight deadlines.

  • Strong financial analysis skills.

  • An appetite to learn new technologies and being comfortable in navigating complex and nuanced issues.

  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.

  • Effective communicator, both orally and written.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and build trusted relationships.

  • Minimal travel expected
