Booking Holdings Financial Services (hereinafter “BHFS”) is based in Dublin, Ireland and provides financial services in the form of payment services and e-money products across all the brands. Booking Holdings Financial Services, is building out a finance team with experience within a regulated financial services environment, helping to deliver a world-class payments operation to support Booking Holdings Inc’s brands globally. The company is seeking to hire an experienced Team Leader. Reporting to the Financial Controller the successful candidate will lead a “Payments” team of 3-4 analysts who will be responsible for the day to day processes, controls and reporting necessary to ensure the business meets its obligations with respect to safeguarding, reconciliation and reporting of “User Funds”. This team will work closely with colleagues in affiliate companies who support the daily execution of key tasks under an outsourced arrangement. The role is part of the wider Finance team responsible for both the day to day financial operations of the Irish business as well as supporting new business initiatives across the company. The Finance team will be responsible for ensuring BHFS is in compliance with all its regulatory and statutory responsibilities from a financial control and oversight perspective and will partner with both internal and external service providers to ensure a strong internal control environment. The Finance team will be accountable for the delivery of timely, complete and accurate financial statements and management reporting and supporting financial analysis, and will support the local executive team in pursuit of the company’s objectives.
Responsibilities and Duties
Ensure the timeliness, completeness and accuracy of daily reconciliations in line with regulatory obligations around safeguarding.
Supervision of a team of analysts performing reconciliation work in a timely and accurate manner.
Ensure all payment operations and treasury activities and associated reconciliation controls are completed in a timely and accurate manner
.Support both Internal and External audit review processes.
Support all Regulatory and reporting for the business.
Partner with both internal and external service providers who support the business
Ensure a strong internal control environment within the payments group
3rd level degree or equivalent preferred
5-8 Years experience
Experience of working in regulated financial services. Ideally within Payment Services but not essential.
Experience of managing a team responsible for day to day reconciliation controls and reporting within a regulated financial services business and operating to strict timelines.
Good knowledge of MS Office and Financial ERP (SAP) systems.
Attention to detail is key.
Excellent financial analysis and problem solving skills
Excellent writing, communication, verbal and written, and organizational skills.
Eager to learn new technologies and ideas. Comfortable navigating complicated and nuanced issues.
Great interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a fast paced team environment.
