Job Overview

Booking Holdings Financial Services Ireland, is looking for a Training Specialist with strong experience in Financial Services to act as a critical partner to our business, helping develop, launch, and enable our mission to deliver a world-class payments operation to support Booking Holdings Inc’s brands globally.

The selected candidate will have the chance to witness firsthand the investment in digital technology that helps take the friction out of travel.

The Training Specialist will assist in ensuring the business complies with laws, regulatory requirements, policies and procedures across Ireland and EEA business. You’ll report directly to the Chief Compliance Officer. 

Harnessing the strategic vision of the company this role will be responsible for establishing standards and implementing procedures to ensure that the Ethics and Training programs throughout the organisation are effective and efficient in identifying, preventing, detecting and correcting noncompliance with applicable laws and regulations and producing useful management information to support the business as it continues to scale. Given the collaborative nature of the business you will be consistently business partnering stakeholders throughout the company to understand the training needs and to ensure an effective training program and plan is executed.

Responsibilities and Duties

The Training Specialist will be part of the Compliance team and be instrumental in ensuring the organisation meets its strategic objectives under the umbrella of the Booking Holdings Inc family of Brands, with a particular focus on the Ireland and EEA.

You will provide assurance to CCO that there are effective and efficient systems,  policies and procedures in place, well understood and respected by all employees, and that the company is complying with its obligations.  The Training Specialist will:

  • Manage Fitness & Probity (F&P), Training and Ethics related Charters, Policies and Procedures

  • Have oversight of Outsourced activities relating to F&P Training and Ethics

  • Be responsible for Design and implementation of the Training program & Plan

  • Manage integrity issues

  • Roll out Ethics program from BHI

  • Manage Conflict of Interest and Code of Conduct queries and processes

  • Be Responsible for F&P, Training and Ethics related Audits

  • Planning, directing and delivering staff inductions

  • Ensuring strategic alignment of the training department with business goals and needs across the business.

  • Identifying training needs by consulting with stakeholders and using needs assessments 

  • Selecting and managing resources, including working with both internal employees and training vendors to develop and deliver training 

  • Managing the technologies required to develop, manage and deliver training 

  • Collaborates closely with the Training Department in the BHI and to define training requirements needed to support quality



  • Minimum 5  years experience at a mid management level, in a regulated financial services business.

  • Background in law, accounting, finance or training related disciplines.

  • Knowledge of EU payment and e-money regulations and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) 

  • Strong knowledge of Irish and EU financial services regulatory frameworks

  • Enhance compliance culture within the organisation. Provide the relevant training and regular updates to heighten staff’s compliance awareness.

  • The ability to prioritise activities and delegate to others both within the business and external partners

  • Experience in implementing training frameworks at dynamic, scaling and innovative companies with a global reach 

  • Comprehensive knowledge of compliance and continuous improvement concepts, procedures, processes, best practices, and industry trends.

  • Capable of conducting training sessions, leading meetings and making presentations.
