Booking Holdings is currently undergoing a Finance Transformation initiative that will drive effective finance/accounting support for business management; promote strong governance and control in the organization; and have a world-class finance organization in terms of execution and efficiency.
To support this transformation, we are hiring a Director, Revenue Accounting within the Global Accounting Organization. This role, reporting to the Global Process Owner, Accounting, will be responsible for helping drive standardized global processes, leveraging best in class technology being implemented globally, and ensuring compliance with Company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities and Duties
Overseeing worldwide revenue processes and procedures, including partnering with OTC GPO in the area of billing, collections and revenue recognition to ensure compliance with BHI Accounting Policies.
Serving as a financial/accounting business partner to operations and other cross functional teams.
Serving as a global subject matter resource in the area of revenue accounting.
Partnering with the Brand accounting and operations teams to ensure appropriate application of the BHI revenue recognition and breakage accounting policies and to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, identifying potential impacts on revenue and financial risk and escalating them to the BHI technical accounting team, as appropriate.
Overseeing analyses related to revenue recognition as per BHI accounting policies.
Providing leadership to drive a global standard process model from a people and technology perspective in collaboration with external reporting, statutory reporting, tax reporting and compliance needs.
Driving process improvement and automation efforts to streamline accounting operations related to revenue accounting and improve the quality of monthly, quarterly, and annual closes, and internal controls.
Partnering with OTC GPO to develop and enhance processes and controls around revenue related financial metrics.
Establishing and maintaining business partnerships with key stakeholders across the organization.
Business process transformations and delivery of key programs (on-going and future projects) across multiple global entities.
Partnering with Risk & Controls to designing and communicating the processes and controls needed while also promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
Staying current on related upcoming changes to accounting pronouncements and BHI accounting policies.
Overseeing operational implementation of /operationalizing new accounting standards, policies & procedures to ensure consistency and compliance in partnership with the technical accounting team.
Leading other special projects as assigned.
BS degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA or MBA preferred with public accounting / audit experience
Minimum 12 years of Finance and Accounting experience in a complex multinational organization
Minimum 5 years of technical accounting experience
Strong technical skills including knowledge of GAAP and sound understanding of financial statements
Demonstrated experience working in a global matrix organization and leading group efforts through influence and communication via strong interpersonal skills
Demonstrable experience of executing process transformation initiatives
Ability to influence and drive change at all levels of the organization
Intermediate proficiency in a general ledger/fixed asset or ERP system (SAP a plus)
Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skill
10-15% average travel during normal circumstances
