The Director, Global Compliance Training & Communications is a key member of our Global Compliance & Ethics team and the head of the training and communication function of our compliance and ethics program. As such, the Director, Global Compliance Training & Communications is responsible for the effective design and implementation of our compliance training and communications program, including developing and articulating the strategic vision and plan for the program, working closely and collaboratively with our brand Compliance & Ethics teams to implement them, and measuring and reporting on the program’s effectiveness and continuous improvement. Our training and communications function also supports other departments within Legal and Finance with their compliance training needs and the Director, Global Compliance Training & Communications works with these stakeholders to incorporate their requirements into the overall training and communications plan and support them with training development and implementation. The Director, Global Compliance Training & Communications reports to the VP, Global Compliance & Ethics Operations. The role leads a team and partners with, advises, and supports numerous stakeholders across our global business.
In this role you will get to:
Create and articulate a compelling vision and strategy for the compliance training and communications function aligned with the overall vision and strategy for our Global Compliance & Ethics Program.
Develop a comprehensive training and communications plan tailored to our business, responsive to applicable legal and regulatory requirements, and effective in relaying information to the relevant audience(s) across Booking Holdings and our brands. Work with the compliance training and communications teams at our brands and other key stakeholders to develop brand-specific training and communications plans incorporating global requirements as well as brand-specific needs. Ensure brand-specific compliance training and communications initiatives align with the global plan.
Implement guidelines that ensure compliance training and communications across Booking Holdings are designed and implemented in a consistent, effective, efficient, risk-based, and sustainable manner. Proactively engage with stakeholders and serve as a subject matter expert and a valuable resource to the organization on compliance training and communications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop processes that support the creation of tailored course materials that can be used by specific brands or at a regional or local level.
Drive innovation in training and communications design and deployment promoting effective training approaches, leveraging data and technology in our learning processes, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement using data insights to shape the compliance & ethics learning roadmap and priorities.
Own and drive the implementation of all compliance training and communications initiatives. Develop and deploy processes to monitor training effectiveness, including dashboards, reports, and presentations for the Compliance Leadership Team, senior management, and the Board’s Audit Committee.
Deploy surveys to measure the company’s culture of compliance and ethics, including survey design, launches, and robust analysis, insights, and reporting of survey results.
Drive and continuously improve company-wide programs and initiatives that teach and promote company values and behaviors, such as Ethics Moments, our Ethics Ambassador Program, and Global Ethics Day.
Collaborate with other Compliance & Ethics team members to create and launch communications campaigns to accompany rollouts of policies and procedures and promote and support the company’s ethical culture.
Manage external service providers supporting our training and communications strategic objectives, projects, and initiatives.
Manage the training and communications budget and spend.
Manage the training and communications team, promoting a team culture of excellence, integrity, innovation, optimism and enthusiasm, and customer focus.
What you have:
Bachelor’s Degree required. Advanced degree a plus, especially a law degree
8+ years of relevant experience, preferably in a corporate compliance and ethics department
Experience leading a compliance training and communications function, including strategic planning and program ownership from design through implementation
Background in training and communications design, instructional design, curriculum development, diversity & inclusion program development, or relevant learning/cognitive principles a plus
5+ years of prior managerial experience
Experience designing and delivering both company-wide programs and function-specific programs
Experience supporting cross-functional teams, especially Compliance & Ethics or Legal functions
Proven experience driving operational excellence with large-scale global programs
Experience working on a global team, capable of delegation, team building, and strategic leadership, driving alignment and consensus
Significant experience with project management and systems implementation
Experience selecting and working with vendors using analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to plan and execute at strategic and tactical levels
Displays the highest levels of integrity
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with excellent presentation skills and demonstrated ability to be clear and concise when communicating with global stakeholders
Proven success communicating effectively with stakeholders at all levels globally
Excellent presentation skills with a polished and professional demeanor
Ability to manage complex projects and deliver a wide range of content with multiple stakeholders
Fluent with metrics and how to evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs in driving significant business impact

There are a variety of job related factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. In addition to a competitive base salary, roles are eligible to be considered for an annual bonus and equity grant.
The base salary range for Connecticut and the NYC-metro area is $179,100-$218,900.
