As part of the firm's ongoing development a new initiative, Booking Holdings Financial Services (BHFS) is established. It is intended that BHFS-USA will provide certain financial services to Bookers and Partner customers using the online platforms within the BKNG portfolio of brands.
BHFS is looking for a corporate paralegal to assist in the corporate governance work and other miscellaneous work for our growing legal team. The role will also include some office management duties to support the running of a small office.
Responsibilities and Duties
Support various corporate governance matters, including helping to manage the US foreign business registration filings and annual renewals.
Manage corporate documents in third party systems such as (GEMS).
Work closely with other members of the team to fulfill our compliance and corporate governance requirements for international affiliated entities.
Respond to requests for information and documents from our internal and external auditors, regulators, partners, and other stakeholders.
Manage the office support including but not limited to visitors, meeting room scheduling, and office supplies.
Organize the new office layout and organize office operations and procedures.
Manage contract and price negotiations with office vendors, service providers and office lease.
Manage office G&A budget, ensure accurate and timely reporting and deal with all correspondence.
Assist with special projects as needed, with the ability to work in an ever-changing environment across different time zones.
Paralegal certificate and/or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Experience in working in a fast paced organization is essential.
5+ years of relevant corporate paralegal experience with a law firm and/or in-house at a public company
A high degree of proficiency (aka power user) with G-Suite, Blueprint, board portals like Diligent and – BoardVantage, CounselGo/SimpleLegal, Computershare GEMS, and the MS Suite
Succinct Communicator – ability to communicate at all levels in the organization
Ability to work in a cross-functional matrix environment
Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work
Attention to detail and problem solving skills
Action and results-oriented, with the ability to demonstrate good judgment in a fast-paced, high-growth, dynamic environment
Ability to work independently, handle multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines
Highest level of accuracy, superb attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills
Ability to deal effectively with a variety of individuals at all organizational levels in different time zones
A positive attitude, collaborative mindset, and a desire to be part of a strong, supportive team
Experience in the payments industry or with payment-related legal matters at a consumer products or service company is a plus
Project management skills also a plus
