Job Overview

Booking Holdings Financial Services Ireland, is looking for a Compliance Monitoring analyst with strong experience from the payments industry to monitor the Compliance program in Booking Holdings Inc’s brands globally.

The selected candidate will have the chance to witness firsthand the investment in digital technology that helps take the friction out of travel.

The Compliance Monitoring Analyst will assist in ensuring the business complies with laws, regulatory requirements, policies and procedures across Ireland and EEA business. You’ll report directly to the Chief Compliance Officer.

This role will be responsible for establishing standards and implementing procedures to ensure that the compliance programs throughout the organisation are effective and efficient in identifying, preventing, detecting and correcting noncompliance with applicable laws and regulations and producing useful management information to support the business as it continues to scale. Given the collaborative nature of the business you will be consistently business partnering with the product, operations, engineering and marketing teams to ensure you understand the intricacies of operations.  

You will support directly a dynamic organization of executives, legal experts, risk managers, product managers, finance and treasury professionals, software and hardware engineers, designers, deal makers, and operations specialists who are responsible for bringing products to life across Booking Holdings Inc’s global portfolio of brands, and making an impact on millions of travelers per day.

Responsibilities and Duties

The Compliance Monitoring Analyst will be part of the Compliance team and be instrumental in ensuring the organisation meets its strategic objectives under the umbrella of the Booking Holdings Inc family of Brands, with a particular focus on the Ireland and EEA.

You will provide assurance to CCO that there are effective and efficient policies and procedures in place, well understood and respected by all employees, and that the company is complying with all regulatory requirements.  The Senior Compliance Officer will:

  • Ensure work policies and procedures comply with regulatory requirements 
  • Assist in the development of the annual compliance work plan and update this periodically.
  • Coordinate internal compliance review and monitoring activities, including periodic reviews of departments.
  • Assist in preparation of clear and concise Compliance reports for reporting to the Board and Committee’s
  • Engage and communicate effectively with colleagues, customers, suppliers, regulators, and other internal and external stakeholders 
  • Provide guidance, advice, and/or training and educational programs, to improve business' understanding of related laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in audits, reviews, and examinations.
  • Act as subject matter expert on compliance related matters with the business
  • Assist in the design and provide training to the business on Compliance related topics as part of the annual training program.
  • Demonstrate ethical leadership and business integrity 
  • Actively contribute to embedding and promoting a compliance culture within the firm.
  • Assist in compliance projects as assigned by the CCO

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years Compliance/Regulatory experience, in a regulated financial services business which must include a significant amount of experience in the payments/e-money sector.
  • Background in law, accounting/audit, finance or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience dealing with financial services regulators
  • Knowledge of EU payment and e-money regulations, financial crime regulations and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) 
  • Degree in finance, economics, accounting, Law or related field.
  • CAMS-certification or Professional Diploma in Compliance (LCOI)
  • Specialized Diploma
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3-5 years of relevant working experience
  • Knowledge of Irish and EU financial services regulatory frameworks
  • Knowledge of EEA Anti-Money Laundering Requirements
  • Knowledge of the Central Bank F&P requirements
  • The ability to prioritise activities and delegate to others both within the business and external partners
  • Experience in managing Compliance Monitoring Plan and reporting on progress
