Job Summary

The AML/KYC Operations team sits within the second line of defence under the Compliance Function. The AML/KYC Analyst will perform Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), Quality Checking (QC) activities. 

The AML/KYC Analyst will be part of a high-performing team of AML/KYC practitioners that will be responsible for mitigating AML risks and driving operational excellence to support the BHFS and Booking Holdings mission.

You will work alongside some of the most exciting tools and solutions available to assist in fighting financial crime and aim to provide as frictionless a Partner onboarding experience as possible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performing Anti-Money Laundering and Customer Due Diligence checks. 

  • Requesting appropriate CDD documentation from Clients. 

  • Undertaking independent investigations on Partners using internal and external systems and tools. 

  • Periodic reviews of KYC/AML records to ensure  completeness, including verifying that due diligence has been performed and risk assessments are current and up to date.

  • Investigating and reporting high-risk clients, including Politically Exposed Persons, collecting all the necessary documentation to complete the client profile. 

  • Summarize & analyze in writing, clear and concise findings of screening alert investigations. Escalate results through the appropriate channels where applicable. 

  • Escalate potential risks/red flags to senior management and provide recommendations on the next course of action.

  • Communicate with internal stakeholders and external Partners in order to resolve any issues, as needed.

  • Provide SME expertise and support to the BHFS, Booking Holdings and Fintech teams. 

  • Partner with the Regulatory Compliance team to update operational procedures to implement any policy or regulatory changes. 

  • Performing relevant quality assurance checks on transaction monitoring and screening alerts.

  • Review and update related SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) in line with BHFS AML policy and procedures

Knowledge and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in law, business, finance, or accounting preferred; or Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS, ICA) or similar 

  • At least 3+ years' experience in AML compliance/AML/KYC Operations, preferably at a large financial institution with a European customer base, experience in payments an advantage

  • Good knowledge of the European AML legislation

  • Proactive and communicative with an ability to take initiative and assume responsibility
